A series of DIY bodges has left their hallway and dining room in a very sorry state – the walls resemble a battlefield after failed attempts to remove woodchip, and the wallpaper they hung rather rashly one Christmas Eve is full of bubbles and comes from two different batches – so isn’t even all the same colour! Plus, removing a wall between the hall and the dining room has left mis-matched flooring between these two rooms...
Builder Martin Gonzalez and designer Ed Robinson ride to the rescue with their teams... They want to give these guys a hallway to die for and set about transforming the space all the way up the stairs and to the landing beyond... Martin lays new oak laminate flooring through the hallway in to the dining room and also boxes away some dodgy old fuse boxes by the front door. And Ed gets the whole family’s creative juices flowing by getting them to create a giant freestyle abstract art piece for the top of the stairs.
But the tricky part of this is that Louise and Grant have wildly different tastes – will they both love their freshly made-over hallway and landing when it’s revealed to them all?
