Lisa’s husband does some of the DIY, but as he’s away a lot, she likes to pick up where he leaves off – with often disastrous results. She tried scraping woodchip wallpaper off the walls, but took most of the plaster off with it, and after banging her head on the oven’s extractor fan one too many times, she ripped the whole unit off the wall with her bare hands...!
Edward’s always amused at his mum’s DIY efforts, but less amused that as the youngest child, he always gets the tiny bedroom...
Luckily, builder Martin Gonzalez and designer Ed Robinson are here to help both of them out. Martin sets about getting the kitchen back in order for Lisa, but the far bigger challenge for both him and Ed is the conservatory, which the young Edward would love to be turned in a Teen Crib so he and his mates can have some space to hang out in....
Transforming a space like this is full of pitfalls, including keeping it warm in winter and cool in summer, making it into a cosy den and making it all feel cool enough for a very demanding teenager...
The build and design teams work against the clock to give this young lad a space of his own.... But will young Edward be a happy lad at the end of it all...?
