Will they have pushed their build project on? Will they have had the confidence to get up and do it themselves? For six years, Gordon and Lisa Lewis and their three children, Jason, Sophie and Daniel were too embarrassed to invite neighbours and friends round to their house. Difficulties with their builder had resulted in an incomplete extension and the knock on to this; a miserable existence living in a rut in a cold and depressing house.
When the team first visited, the Lewis’ had run out of money. But they weren’t just stuck financially, emotionally too, the lack of communal space had had an isolating effect on family relationships. The children stayed in their rooms, Lisa sat in the car as she hated the house and Gordon felt helpless and guilty that he had let his family down.
The team turning up proved to be a ray of hope in a desperate situation. Although Gareth Hooson and his boys couldn’t fix the roof, Laura was determined to try and make the Lewis’ dreams come true.
When Laura and Edward revisit, we see the results of Laura’s hard work - a new roof is being laid. Edward gives Gordon and Lisa tips to create their perfect kitchen and they themselves are brimming with positivity.
