For two years they have lived in a building site with ill-fitting windows that have made their house cold. They have also endured three months with no hot water. The dream had been to create more space for their three teenagers and to have an extra bedroom for Grandpa Jack. The upheaval of the build has taken its toll on the family and since their grandma’s death, the pressure is on to involve Jack more in family life.
As the build team explore the property, they discover more problems; a leaky skylight and faulty electrics. Infuriating problems that slow down efforts to get the build on track. Laura takes time to unpick the emotional turmoil the family have suffered, Dan explores the world of windows from super secure to the ultra-energy efficient and Edward sets to work transforming a cold shell into a warm and welcoming respite room for Grandpa Jack. But could a delivery of a carpet scupper the team’s chances of making this family’s dreams come true?
