Alison is a home expert, writer and serial entrepreneur. After graduating from Cambridge with a degree in Classics, Alison launched several businesses, one of which was floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1994, making her the youngest ever female board director of a publicly quoted company. Alison then decided to focus on her love of home, and turned to TV. In 1997 she wrote and presented her first network series, Home In The Country, a lifestyle show that spanned cookery, creative inspiration and interiors. This was followed by several other series, including Countdown To Christmas, Don't Move, Improve, 60 Minute Makeover and Help I Hate My House. In 2012 Alison launched her own online home ware brand, www.withinhome.com
, delivering affordable furniture and accessories to the consumer. In 2014, Alison launched www.oneregentplace.co.uk
, which sells branded goods at up to 80 per cent off retail prices. She writes weekly interiors columns in several national papers, with a combined readership of over 12 million. She lives in central London with her husband and two children.
